Open Research

Research data are the evidence for claims made in research outputs such as articles or theses. Research data can include numerical data, images and videos, interviews, software and code, artworks, methods and fieldwork diaries. This evidence should be open to scrutiny in the same way as the research output itself. Open data is an important component of open research practice. It underpins scientific research results with appropriate restrictions on access. Data can't always be open, for ethical or commercial reasons. But there are still ways you can apply open research practice to your data.
