There are two committees that look after open research at Cambridge. The Open Research Steering Committee gives the direction. The Open Research Operational Group reports to this committee, managing activities and working groups in line with this direction.
The Open Research Steering Committee oversees a range of activities, such as:
- to develop and look after policies that relate to open research at the University
- to help our researchers follow their funders’ policies
- to publicise open research at the University
- to make sure open research services have the resources they need
- to respond to policy developments happening outside of the University
It reports to the Research Policy Committee.
Included in the Open Research Operational Group’s responsibilities are:
- to manage the work programme related to open research in the University
- to engage with our researchers on matters relating to open research
- to work with others at the University to communicate about open research
- to enable service providers to work together in support of open research
- to help prepare for research evaluation tasks
