What is Apollo?

Apollo is the University of Cambridge's institutional repository. The University established it in 2003 as a service to share its research outputs. The Repository commits to store and preserve the University’s research outputs. Research outputs include publications, conference proceedings, book chapters, books, theses, various forms of research data (like videos, spreadsheets, code, and images), presentations, and more.

As outlined in Apollo’s terms of use, the Repository is responsible for the curation of deposited research outputs, as well as for storing and sharing those outputs according to the guidelines of research funders and abiding to principles and recommendations from Cambridge University Library’s (CUL) Digital Preservation Policy

Apollo supports the University of Cambridge’s commitment to disseminating and preserving its research and scholarship as widely as possible. Its main goal is to provide open access to the University’s research publications.

The Open Research Systems team manages this service. The Open Research Systems team is part of the Digital Initiatives at the University of Cambridge Library and Archives.
